Asia: Taste the World Feast

If you want to celebrate with a feast inspired by Asia, here’s what you need to prep your grocery list!

This plant-based meal is packed with big, bold flavors, though you can certainly add in fish or other Asian-inspired protein choice if you’d like!

Choose one item or all of the below (adjust serving sizes as needed):

Appetizer: Deep Fried Tofu, East Timor ~ Ingredients: 1 block extra firm tofu, 1/3 cup rice flour or cornstarch.

Side Dish: Carrot Salad, Mongolia ~ Ingredients: 1 lb carrots, 1/2 cup raisins, garlic, veg oil, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt/pepper
Main Course, Inspired by Rickshaw Girl: Vegetable Biryani, Bangladesh ~ Ingredients: 3 cups basmati rice, 10 cardamom pods, 1 cinnamon stick, 6 cloves, 2 bay leaves, salt, ghee (or butter), 2 onions, 9 baby potatoes, 1 cauliflower head, 6 carrots, ginger root, garlic, 1 green chili pepper, chili powder, coriander, cumin, turmeric, 1 tomato, 2 tbsp plain yogurt, 1/2 cup raisins, rose water, slivered almonds, fresh cilantro Note: Even if you don’t have all these ingredients, it will still turn out great!

Drink: Thai Iced Tea, Thailand ~ Ingredients: 8 bags ceylon tea, 4 pods star anise, 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Dessert: Shaved Ice Treat, Taiwan ~ Ingredients: 1 mango, sweetened condensed milk, crushed/blended ice, vanilla ice cream
