Multi-Cultural: Taste the World Feast

If you want to celebrate with a feast at the end of your worldwide trip, I suggest that you pick a few of your favorites from the stops along our journey–or order your favorite global takeout!

As a separate project, use these recipes to sample several types of bread from around the world–a staple that we all depend on, yet make in very different ways!

All of the options below use only five ingredients or less:

Damper Bread, Australia
Damper Bread, Australia ~ Ingredients: 8 cups all-purpose flour, salt, 1/4 cup baking powder, 1/4 cup sugar, 2.5 cups milk – plus extra as needed (serves 8-10)

Pancakes with Green Onion, China ~ Ingredients: 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, salt, sesame oil as needed, green onions (makes 8)
Mamaliga, Moldova
Mamaliga, Moldova ~ Ingredients: 3 cups water, 1 cup yellow cornmeal (medium or coarse ground), salt, butter to grease bowls (serves 4)
Chickpea Crepes, Monaco
Chickpea Crepes, Monaco ~ Ingredients: 1 cup chickpea flour, 1/4 cup olive oil (plus extra for cooking), salt/pepper (serves 4)
Grilled Garlicky Bacon Bread, Slovakia
Grilled Garlicky Bacon Bread, Slovakia ~ Ingredients: 5 slices bacon, 2 slices rye OR sour dough bread, 1-2 cloves garlic (serves 2)
